The Covalent Bonds COVID-19 Media Analysis Project
The Covalent Bonds COVID-19 Media Analysis Project provides insights into current media coverage surrounding the coronavirus outbreak and the race to find treatment and vaccines. In March, we conducted a benchmark study to determine which life science brands to evaluate going forward. There were 85 brands identified during the benchmark and of those the top 30 brands were chosen for monitoring in general COVID-19 media coverage. Each brand is evaluated for sentiment, topic of discussion, and positioning on industry issues.
Currently, the dashboards display media coverage from May 1st to current day. We are slowly adding in coverage from March and April. Each portion of the dashboard can be filtered by a specific brand tracked or date. It is free to use and we aim to provide some help to companies during these unusual times.
Content analysis was done for each article, to look at the quality of coverage each news source/author was providing ('content quality score'). Quality of coverage evaluates sentiment, thought leadership, visuals, positioning on industry issues and calls to action for each news story.
